UNACCEPTABLE RISKS
The following risks are unacceptable and may not be bound:
Use
- For hire livery/passengers.
- For hire debris removal.
- Emergency vehicles, including ambulances, fire trucks, and any other vehicles equipped with a siren.
- For hire or contract medical passenger transport, or paratransit risks.
- Delivery vehicles with a time guarantee of 30 minutes or less.
- Vehicles leased or rented to others by the insured.
- Taxicabs.
- Vehicles transporting migrant workers.
- Vehicles used to haul hazardous or explosive materials (other than heating oil for home delivery).
- Coal haulers other than home delivery.
- Flatbed steel haulers.
- Towing operators that derive more than 20% of their revenue from repossession activity.
- Vehicles used as a primary living facility.
- Truck driving schools.
- Transportation of prisoners or reform school students.
Coverage
- Liability coverage for vehicles hauling garbage or trash.
- For-hire trucking risks requiring hired auto coverage.
- Hired or non-owned coverage on pizza delivery risks.
Vehicle Type or Equipment
- Trailer-only policies.
- Mobile equipment, such as power shovels, cranes, rollers, forklifts or other vehicles designed for off-road use.
- Dune buggies or kit cars.
- Some permanently attached equipment. Call for details.
Miscellaneous
- Vehicles garaged out of state.
- Risks with over 40 power units.
- Businesses that lease or rent vehicles without drivers are unacceptable. However, businesses that lease or contract to haul goods for others using listed vehicles and listed drivers are acceptable.
- Tractor Trailer combinations traveling beyond a 300 mile radius except non-truck and physical damage-only policies.
